Heathrow Area Transport Forum (HATF) is a partnership between organisations in the private and public sectors with a shared goal of improving accessibility and increasing public transport use to and from the airport and the surrounding area.
Improving Public Transport Now
The Forum provides input to on-going surface access initiatives related to the existing two runway airport. HATF will robustly challenge Heathrow with regards to its performance against defined surface access targets and doing the right thing for passengers, colleagues and local communities.
HATF has a key role in providing input for the preparation and development of the surface access strategy for Heathrow expansion, as well as monitoring progress against defined targets within the strategy.
Reducing Environmental Impact
The Forum will play a vital role in assisting Heathrow’s efforts to reduce the environmental impact of passengers and staff travelling to and from the airport, by moving them towards environmentally friendly transport.
HATF is chaired by Val Shawcross CBE, former London Deputy Mayor for Transport, who will lead a team of board members with varying expertise in improving accessibility, increasing public transport and influencing public behaviours.
